At the 46th annual Baeksang Awards, Queen Seon Duk, IRIS and High Kick Through the Roof were big winners, with QSD grabbing numerous acting prizes and IRIS awarded Best Drama. Despite its controversial ending, High Kick walked away with Best Comedy/Variety Show, as well as a Best Newcomer award for Hwang Jung Eum, with Chuno picking up Best Screenplay. What the heck is going on over at Birdie Buddy? First Seo Ji Hye backed out, and now at the last minute Lee Mi Sook has hit the eject button. Lee’s managers say that the producers disrespected the busy actress, scheduling out-of-town shoots on days that conflicted with her previously agreed upon schedule to shoot Cinderella’s Sister. Yoo In Na from High Kick Through the Roof has joined the cast, but at this point it’s probably safer to just make it a one-woman show starring UEE.
A new poster was released from the upcoming Legally Blonde-ish Prosecutor Princess. Dunno if I’d trust a lawyer with Kim So Yeon‘s look on her face, and Park Shi Hoo looks kind of spooked. I’m sure it’ll all make sense after I watch the show!
Park Shin Hye has been cast in the upcoming movie modernization of Cyrano de Bergerac titled Cyrano Agency. Playing Uhm Tae Woong‘s assistant, Park will portray a love messenger used by the agency to bring lonely singles together. Shooting starts next month for Cyrano, with a release date in September.
Jang Geun Suk will sing the rarely-performed song Dream, Lift Your Wings at a charity concert to raise money for low-income families and children’s education organizations.
Finally, a peek (with price analysis) of the simple, doll-like outfit Bae Doo Na wore to promote her film Air Doll, which opens soon in Korea on April 8th.
