With the premieres this week of DREAM HIGH 2 and SHUT UP FLOWER BOY BAND, we were introduced to three new fictional bands: HershE, Eden and Eye Candy. That reminded us of how many awesome kdramas have revolved around rock bands, and how many of those actually broke out onto real world stages. What’s your favorite kdrama rock band of all time? Is it YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL’s A.N.Jell? The Stupid from HEARTSTRINGS? Time to vote!

Take Care My Bus from Mary Stayed out all Night made me drool aftering hearing like 2 seconds of it!! I need this song to live! Love this song so much!! I love the whole ost!! My cell phone is currently song number 8 from the ost. It sounds sort of like video game music. It has been my ring tone a little over a year now!

Shut Up: Flower Boy Band had Lee Min-ki as their leader (well, at least for the first 2 episodes – I’m still hung up on the fact that they had to kill him off) and Lee Min-ki is one hell of a talented musician on top of being a charismatic actor. If those reasons doesn’t make Eye Candy the best band in k-drama land, then the fact that they were singing Crystal Castles’ song “Not in Love” will surely do it. I never knew k-dramas could be so hip.

Well, if you’re talking ROCK band, then I say Hades from What’s Up, but pop band? Dream High, hands down >.< Of course, I'm just starting Heartstrings, and haven't watched Shut Up Flower Boy Band yet, so that might have to do with my reasoning, lol.

For rock: The Stupid in Heartstrings killed it when they were rocking the electric blues numbers. They were good at the ballads, too, I guess. I still am looking to find out who actually played the blues guitar riffs. They never showed the actors face when they were in close enough to see his fingers doing the more complex guitar solos. I’m wondering if the actor did all the guitar work. I especially liked when they did the Metallica riffs mixing the rock band and traditional Korean instruments. I would love to see more of that.
