Chinese media company Celestial Tiger Entertainment (CTE) signed a broadcast deal with the Lingerie Football League (LFL). According to an official press release, the agreement, brokered by Total Sports Asia, will see the LFL broadcast on CTE’s action channel Kix across the Pan-Asian region in the first quarter of 2013.
Betty Tsui, VP of programming at CTE channels Kix and Thrill said: “We are excited to partner with the Lingerie Football League to bring America’s fastest growing sports league to Asia.” She justified the potential skepticism to be expected by saying, ”The LFL is not about models attempting to play football. The LFL presents tough, sexy, and talented female athletes playing full-contact, American football. At Kix, we promise our viewers the hottest action from around the world, and action doesn’t get any hotter than this.”
Mitchell Mortaza, founder and chairman of LFL Global, commented: “This partnership with Celestial Tiger Entertainment is yet another step towards building a global sport. We thank Celestial Tiger for being the pioneers that introduced LFL Football to Asia.”
It is hard to get your head around wondering how football can be played without padding, but in lingerie? What are your thoughts on this sexy deal being brokered? Do people in Asia even follow American Football? I’m curious to see how this plays out.
