Korean actress Song Hye Kyo (Autumn in My Heart) is starring in award-winning Hong Kong director Wong Kar-Wai’s very first kung fu film, THE GRANDMASTER. A teaser for the film was released on November 7th, featuring scenes with Song Hye Kyo playing the role of a gentle woman with strong and powerful kung fu skills. It is no surprise that the famous Kar-Wai has cast her in his latest film, as she has the classic beauty and charm that are signatures of his style. Song Hye Kyo has been working alongside famous Chinese actors Tony Leung, Zhang Ziyi and Chang Chen. Here’s a sneak preview of her in character, donning the Chinese Qipao:
WKW’s THE GRANDMASTER has taken a decade to get to the big screen. A biographical portrayal of Yip Man, the man who taught Bruce Lee kung fu, the film will be released worldwide on December 18. This will be a great exposure for Song Hye Ko on the global scene, as Wong Kar-wai has a wide international following.
