LAY-T: Too Sexy for Temple?

Photos from girl group LAY-T’s performance at a Buddhist temple is becoming an issue among netizens. These pics were taken at an event for Buddha’s birthday last spring. Many say their revealing dresses weren’t in harmony with the temple setting, and might even be embarrassing. “It’s too much at a temple,” said one writer. “The monks’ moktak (wooden instrument for chanting) is about to be shattered!” proclaimed another. Still others disagreed, saying: “there’s nothing wrong with having a musical event at temples.” Do you think Lay-T’s performance was too risque for a religious setting?

I think it was an insult to the Buddist religion and very unprofessional. Any comments from the monks? Wonder if they will be invited back again?

What on earth was their management thinking? Or should I say, not thinking. SMH Umm, their stylist too? I feel for the girls too. Being new, I am sure they still pretty much do what they are told. I hope management offers up some kind of apology for any thing the monks or others, may have found offensive. After all this was at a Temple, not a young fan packed concert hall.

this is absolutely insulting to buddhist religion, even if it weren't at the temple it is still very revealing and inappropriate for a new group.what was their stylist thinking?

very disrespectful IMO....in fact...you can see the one girls shorty shorts in the one pic...their dresses are too short and revealing for a temple setting. Stupid stylist and management. Of course this could all be a part of getting attention for the group when there are tons of other rookie girl groups trying to make it big out there now. But still disrespectful

I['ve watched the GIRLS groups go downhill in the last five years or should I say UP HILL with their dresses and shorts and dancing has become racy to the limit like a lap dancer on the desk of her boss. I watched recently a game show where they were competing at a school with many youngsters watching and they to impress the judges got up on the desk and did dance similar to lap dance grinding their hips up and down on the desk in front of the judges like they were at a bar. I was insulted myself to watch and felt how could they in front of the younger ones do such a thing.. ON TV...things that were not allowed in Korea years ago that made the shows and music innocent and enjoyable to watch and listen to have become so over the top sexual that now it's not enjoyable, but dirty. I don't like to listen or watch girls groups any longer because it's all about the wiggling of butts and grinding of hips now and no longer about the music they sing or the voices that are so beautiful. I'm not Buddist but it definitely shows disrespect for not only themselves, the music they sing but the people around them or what they may believe in. They added insult to injury showing their bodies scantily clothed like a religious orgy being held in celebration to gods.

i agree with what the last person said most of all. i started listening to music from japan china and now korea because i found the music in north america to be disrespectful to women and men. i didnt like how women and even little girls were turned into dancing dirty and sining demeaning songs. but now i see in that show named alice for example (just released on dramafever) swearing and using disrespectful language. the b and a word showing up here and there. and the music preforminces , too many are of women who dance like they are trying to add as much sex in as they can! now i cannot watch them without feeling awful, seeing people being degraded when i want to hear there great voices when they could be showing the best of there creativity. there hightest good. it wasnt always like this. i really wish somone cared about keeping people's integrity. i'm really disapointed in the people mushing these women and girls to behave and dress in this way
