I’m sure you’ve heard the news about Rain and Kim Tae Hee by now. In the beginning, the issue was focused on two celebrities seeing each other. However, the focus of netizens’ interest has shifted to privileges allegedly given to Rain while he was serving in the army, such as being allowed leave the base as often as once a week. Korean Ministry of National Defense announced that Rain broke the rules while on duty by having private meetings with Kim Tae Hee, and that an appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.

oh my gosh. If he were any other boy in the military, he'd have gotten away with it and the government wouldn't have cared. But he's an idol, so when his love life gets found out, EVERYONE knows. Sucks.

He should take the punishment and be honorable to his country and people's way of life. It's romantic that he would risk and suffer for her. Love with out risk or trials hasn't any proof.

First of all, it's just rumors. Rain belongs to me. Secondly, I know in the US Services, if you want to take a day off you need permission signed by your supervisor. So the supervisor who allowed special treatment of Rain should be held accountable, but Rain also evidently took advantage of his status by taking frequent days off, so he should also be held accountable by serving those extra days. However, if other celebrities were also given preferential treatment and no big deal was made of it, why go after Rain?

I love Rain, his music, movies and dramas. That said, his actions speak poorly of his character. He should have done like every other Korean man and done his two years without complain.

I do not understand what the problem is. If he asked for the time off and was allowed. It is not like he snuck out or went against orders. Some one was jealous and decided to create chaos. If he did do something underhanded then he needs to take responsibility, if not "Press On Rain".

  The problem is he DID go against orders. He was supposed to be working on music in his private studio and then going straight back to base. He was not off duty. When on duty, you do not make booty calls.

    I wish I could give this comment a thumbs up! I love Rain and I respect both he and Kim Tae Hee's work, but dang, couldn't they at least have used a little more discretion? Especially when they know the paparazzi are following them everywhere? So now he's going to be "disciplined," whatever that means for a celebrity in the PR Unit. He's a grown man, he can handle it.

You have to understand that he can't do anything without approval of his superior. he can't leave or wear anything he is not suppose to without his superior notice it. He just did what his superior allow him to do. And he has been helping them with all his presentation and doing what they ask him to do. Now because the netizens are complaining about it they throw Rain under the bus instead of the military taking responsibility for using him in the first place. it is totally unfair!!!!

  Honestly do you even know what you are saying?? Korean celebrities in the military get a lot of privileges that the average male serving there time doesn't. They are allowing him to work on his music when most guys get sent away from home to other bases around Korea for two years with limited time to return. It seems that few of you actually know how lucky Rain is to be one of the privileged few.

Rain should not be punished if he was given vacation time,or leave or whatever....if there is a problem it should be with his commanders the ones who gave the ok for the time off. They are the problem not Rain!!!

I feel yes he recieved permission to practice for the promotional tours, not to date his GF. Obviously base commanders signed off on him practicing not dating his current gf. Theres a difference in practicing for a concert and going on the date. He knows the difference, hes a grown man and made his choices knowing full well what the concequences could be. He took advantage of the situation, and unfortunately he did it at the wrong time bc now there is growing public backlash on why male celebs recieve preferential treatment. Hammer coming down. And due to his status they might make an example out of him.
