Rain Speaks Out About His Punishment

After his probation for meeting up with Kim Tae Hee while on army duty, Rain finally shared his feelings about the situation. He said in an interview that he “would even fight at the battlefront but it won’t resolve things either.” He also added that he did his best on the publicity duties that were given to him, but now people think that he’s only been dating while in the army.

According to another source, Rain stated that he hopes to be transferred to the battlefront to spend the remaining 7 months of his time in the army. He added that he hopes to be spend the remaining time with common soldiers, instead of being in the publicity department.

It was also said that Rain had to write a self-reflection letter, in addition to reading two books recommended by the Ministry of National Defense one of which was The Wolf of the Wall Street, due to this scandal. It seems like even being famous can sometimes be painful.

I don't blame him one bit. I think his situation very possibly was overdone due to his celebrity status. Rain has always been an incredible role model as a human being. Working late nights after school to succeed when very young. Helping his single mother, who is no longer here. He works out, works hard, is a sweet natured person, and frankly is one tough dude. I hope he gets his transfer. Believe me, Rain can hold his own. Let it Rain!

I think you guys need to do a bit more research or do your own translations or something. This story is very unclear. And the book is called "The Wolf of Wall Street," obviously not "The Wolf of the Wall Street."

I think Rain's getting the short end of the stick. I've read so many reports on all of the publicity crap he had to do for the military, from special appearances to concerts. He even ruptured a disc in his back during one concert, truly a bad thing for a dancer. I'd hate to see him go to the front for the last seven months, but I can see his point. It would probably be easier duty then all of the media circus he's involved in now. I wish him and Kim Tae Hee all the best. Think they make a cute couple.

I feel like Rain has become the scapegoat for preferential treatment of celebrities in the military. Sure, he made some mistakes, and he's received punishment, but I think we need to let that be his punishment and not completely vilify the man. I think his response is fine.

I don't know..knowing what I know about him before he went to MS in 2011..he was courting this very famous and beloved kdrama actress until the said actress told him to stop courting her last yr n just like that he made an about face n date KTH..maybe b'coz he can't convence the other actress to date him which I would say now good for her!!..she really value her privacy n maybe just not into him...

I think he is right, he should be with the regular joe on the street, The military is using him as a poster boy, and he got tired of it. He wants to be trained just like the other recruits.

I think this reflects more on a greedy management team and the government of South Korea wanting to capitalize on the global attention their stars are getting rather than the individual. If not...why have a publicity division? Who really believes he's in a relationship? Why only hear about it at the same time they are used in a combined advertising spread? If anything I feel sorry for people in the entertainment industry in SK. Remember he isn't the one who made up that army division so why should he be held accountable for being in it?

Ok, Rain isn't "quite" perfect. He might have made a bad decision or two in his 30 or so years of life. But I do think he's truly sorry that he's caused anyone (especially his superiors @ DEMA) any trouble with what should have been His Private Life. This whole thing has been blown way out of proportion. I am sure he'll do what DEMA thinks is best for the rest of his time in the military, wherever they send him. (It's not like he has a choice.)

I don't believe a word that comes out of Rain's mouth. Rain uses his fame to get over and get special treatment that others don't get. If he was interested in the front line, he should have gone into the marines like Hyun Bin. He has been dating the entire time he's been in the military. He has taken more days than anyone else. Reading 2 books as punishment is not a punishment. That was so lame.
