Jung So Min and Kim Hyun Joong in Playful Kiss

The behind-the-scenes story of Daemul, in which Go Hyun Jung had been cast as Korea’s first female president, then left amidst a seemingly hopelessly disorganized production, reached a new chapter as Go is apparently back on. Although the drama has yet to cast its female lead, and filming hasn’t even started yet, the show is still on schedule to debut in less than 2 months.

The first teaser for My Girlfriend is a Gumiho is out! Hints of romance, comedy, and a bit of horror are all on display in the new video here.

Obsessive fans, who do you think is taller, Rain or his Fugitive co-star Lee Jung Jin? Finally–at first glance, these may look like rather creepy paparazzi photos, but Lee Min Ho uploaded them himself to his Twitter account this weekend. Looks like Lee spent the night relaxing in his trainers in the park with his cute little chihuahua.

Oguri Shun’s first movie as a director, “SURELY SOMEDAY“, was invited to Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival in Korea so Shun went over.  Although there was no announcement of Shun’s arrival, 1,200 fans welcomed Shun at Gimpo airport.

While Shun was staying in Korea, there was a shoot for a TV talk show with both Shun and Kim Hyun Joong.  Both of them played the role of “Hanazawa Rui” in “Hana yori Dango” (Boys over flowers), and this was the first time for them to see each other in person.

Lee Tae Sung

Now that Kim Hyun Joong is officially on board Playful Kiss, the rest of the cast is being quickly revealed. One of the biggest names to be added recently is Lee Tae Sung, who’s appeared in Time Between Dog and Wolf and several other dramas. Kwon Sang Woo, star of the upcoming Dae Mul and lately infamous for a rather strange hit-and-run accident (no one was injured except a tree), apologized in a handwritten letter posted on his website. Reportedly, the online community is still steamed at the actor for 1) taking so long to put out an apology, and 2) apologizing to his Japanese fans first.

Viewers hoping for a longer Dong may get their wish, as both Dong Yi and the hit Baker King Kim Tak Gu are under consideration for extensions. In Dong Yi’s case, that would potentially mean ten additional episodes!

Want to watch Music Bank? You’d better be at least 15 years old! That’s the new ratings suggestion for the show that has recently been featuring pop idols wearing less and less. Previously, the recommended age was 12 and up.

SS501 member Kim Hyun-joong has been cast as the male lead in the MBC drama “Mischievous Kiss” (written by Ko Eun-nim, directed by Hwang In-roi and Kim Do-hyeong), which will begin airing from September.

According to a spokesperson for his agency Keyeast on July 16, Kim Hyun-joong will play the male lead named Paek Seung Jo in the drama. The character he will play is a handsome genius boy who can learn anything one hundred times faster than others.

In the original Japanese comic book, the name of the character was Arie Naoki.

Production director Hwang In-roi revealed reason why he cast Kim Hyun-joong for the role by saying, “Kim Hyun-joong has an appearance that looks like he just came out of the romance comics and he also has purity in his mind, so he is very suitable for the character Paek Seung Jo”.
