How cute is that? Here’s the first official poster for the movie Cyrano; Dating Agency (argh at their use of the semi-colon), which stars Uhm Tae-woong as the owner of said dating agency who helps the timid Daniel Choi woo Lee Min-jung (and falls for her in the process). It’s also the first time we’ve seen Park Shin-hye pictured as part of the movie; she plays Uhm’s employee as a strategist with the agency.

Uehara Takako

Rain’s upcoming espionage drama Fugitive continues to heat up with the addition of Uehara Takako, from Japanese girl group Speed. She’ll be the hypotenuse to a love triangle involving Rain’s character and Lee Na Young. After Speed broke up in 2000, but before they reunited in 2008, Uehara starred with Ryu Shi Won in a Kdrama special, but mainly has been appearing in Japanese films and television. Comedian/actor/director Naoto Takanaka will also join the cast playing Uehara’s father.  Fugitive, whose plot has something to do with the unexplained reappearance of a huge cache of money lost after the Korean War, will begin airing late this year.

Very cool stills from tonight’s premier Gumiho: Tale of the Fox Child were released–get a preview of the drama that bills itself as a horror story with heart right here.

Son Ye Jin has backed out of My Way, the Hollywood-backed war epic by Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War director Kang Je Gyu. Reportedly changes were made to the scenario, and Son was put off by “a drastic reduction of her character’s weight.” Whether that’s metaphorical reduction in screen time or literal weight loss, she’s bailed and Kang now has to find a new leading lady opposite star Jang Dong Gun.

Whoops! Asked who his “ideal woman” is on Entertainment Weekly, Song Seung Heon for some reason chose Ha Ga In, who is his East of Eden co-star Yeon Jung Hoon’s wife. Pretty soon a pissed-off Yeon was on the phone with him asking what was up, and he had to issue an apology…

Park Shin Hye says she was “shaken and moved” by the support she received from fans of You’re Beautiful on her recent fan meeting in Japan. Not only Japanese fans of the show, but also those from Hong Kong, China, the U.S. and other places gathered to greet their favorite star and celebrate a much-loved series.

Finally, staff members over at CNN Asia were quizzed on which hot Korean celebs “elicited” the most “drool.” So get yourself a napkin and settle in for the conclusive list of South Korea’s 20 Hottest Male Celebrities.

Park Yong Ha

Known internationally for his work on Winter Sonata and other dramas, Hallyu star Park Yong Ha was discovered dead in his home, an apparent suicide victim. The circumstances behind Park’s suicide are still being pieced together, but sources close to the well-liked singer and actor say that his 10-year battle with insomnia combined with his strong relationship with his father, made difficult by his father’s escalating cancer, may have contributed to his decision. Park gave little or no public indication of his mental condition, even chatting normally with Dong Bang Shin Ki member Hero Jae Joong on the phone hours before he hung himself. His body was found this morning by his mother, and a wake was held today at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital. Former roommate So Ji Sub and On Air co-star Kim Ha Neul were among the many mourners who attended the service. Park was 32 years old.

The much-plugged second season of We Got Married is drawing a record numbers of viewers for the series. This season, which pairs 2PM’s Nich Khun with f(x) member Victoria has doubled the amount of  comments usually seen on the network’s website, with two times the number of viewers purchasing the first episode online than normal.

The upcoming rom-com Cyrano Dating Agency let the media onto the set, and you can see photos of stars Uhm Tae Woong, Daniel Choi and Park Shin Hye right here. This take on the famous French story features Uhm as an agent at a dating agency that specializes in creating situations for its clients to meet the love of their lives, and who begins to fall himself for Lee Min Jung, the object of Choi’s affection. Cyrano is currently filming.

The World That They Live In’s Song Hye Kyo is denying reports that she is in talks to star in a new film with Wentworth Miller, from Fox Television’s Prison Break. Chosun Sports had reported the ‘hush-hush’ news that Song was being considered for the upcoming film Ji Xian Feng. Song maintains that she had never even heard of the production.

Finally, Rain celebrated his 29th birthday last week with… an on-stage food fight? Check it out!

Daniel Henney

Rain’s drama Runaway is getting an extra dose of handsome as it was announced that Daniel Henney will join the cast in a role that seems to be in the making, created just for him. Henney previously appeared in My Lovely Samsoon and other Korean dramas before appearing in the ill-fated American medical drama Three Rivers. Whether Henney’s character will speak English (as he has favored in his other series) or Korean is still up in the air.

I doubt that Lee Joon Ki appreciates it, but Jae Hee is telling the press that Lee is having a “very hard time” adjusting to military life. The recently released blabbermouth painted an unflattering image of Lee (although admitting to only meeting him once), as feeling awkward about his crew cut, and worried that his skin will get too tan in the sun.

The IRIS concert was a big success, so why not try it for Chuno? Actually, the goal of the recent Chuno soundrack concert is to help Children’s Charity rather than advertise the series. Check out photos of stars Oh Ji Ho, Kim Ha Eun and Han Jung Soo on stage and behind the scenes right here.

Lee Min Ho celebrated his 24th birthday a little early with his fans, and told them that all he wants this year is a mountain-climbing girlfriend!

We saw pics from the recent Road No. 1 press conference featuring So Ji Sub, and now there’s video from the event. Unfortunately it’s not translated yet, but if you’d like to see the man in action, check it out!

Easy magazine readers in China have named Park Shin Hye as the continent’s top female star!

And finally, the first preview from the much-talked about season of We Got Married featuring 2PM’s Nichkhun and Victoria from f(x). The show doesn’t begin until next weekend, but you can find out what Victoria’s favorite food is by watching the preview clip of the two getting to know each other.

Song Il Kook

Lee Na Young has confirmed that she will co-star opposite Rain in the autumn spy thriller Runaway. Last appearing in Kdrama in Ireland (which hits Drama Fever tomorrow btw), Lee’s return will have her skipping across Asia as the story is set in Tokyo, Macau, Busan, Shanghai and many other iconic cities. Runaway is scheduled to premier in September.

Jumong’s Song Il Kook stirred up controversy with remarks he made anticipating his stage debut in a double role as historical figures Ahn Jung Geun and his son, Ahn Jun Saeng. While Ahn Jung Geun is a famous figure of the Korean resistance of Japanese occupation in the early 1900s, his son Ahn Jun Saeng was branded a traitor to the cause. Song, whose family has figured prominently in Korea’s independence movement, gave remarks sympathetic to Ahn Jun Saeng. That’s all it took for him to be branded by a some as a traitor himself. The upshot is that prior to the start of his new play (called I Am You), a dialogue with the audience will be held to help ease tensions.

On a lighter note, Kdrama celebs are being called on the carpet for being huge fatties by the always-sensitive internet universe. First up, Park Shin Hye was lambasted for appearing slightly more substantial than usual. Birdie Buddy’s UEE also got nailed for having a mini-muffin top in her vacuum-sealed vinyl short shorts (although some kindly suggested that the photos may have been photoshopped by anti-fans). Fearing the kind of harsh criticism that befell those starlets, Jang Geun Suk has announced that he’s going on a diet.

Lee Dong Gun is entering the army, after a health-related postponement. Meanwhile, the military has decided that Lee Joon Ki would best serve as a “celebrity military officer,” working to boost the morale of soldiers by hosting military television and radio shows, as well as making other appearances in order to “fulfill various cultural desires.”

Chuno’s General Choi Han Jung Soo hit the catwalk the other day in a bizarre fur shawl that looks great if you’re… uh… building an igloo?

Finally, have a look at Kim Hyun Joong totally cracking up about something on the radio show Young Street. His SS501 bandmates must have been pretty “on” that day, because Kim had to run to a corner he was laughing so hard!
