The sequel series of the popular romantic comedy Queen of Housewives has been announced, with a name change that may indicate a tone change for season two: Queen of Tears will rejoin Kim Nam Joo as Chun Ji Ae as she struggles for independence and happiness. Although Kim has already agreed to return, the rest of the original cast (including Oh Ji Ho) have not yet confirmed. Tears will drop in September.

Rain gave an extensive interview following his win at the MTV Movie Awards this weekend. The idol opens up about his pride at being the first Korean to win on the show (“I really want to brag about this one”), his prediction of an East-West interracial Hollywood romantic comedy, and his feelings on the possibility of being pigeonholed in action roles.

It looks like the sparks between Jo Kwon and Ga In on We Got Married just might be the real thing. Although the two just pretended to be married on the series, both agreed said that they would consider dating offscreen on the variety show Come To Play. And about that other gumiho drama this summer, here’s Lee Seung Gi looking very wrapped up and shielded from the sun on a recent bike expedition. The reason? Evidently he needs to look super pale for My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho

Hayami Mokomichi

Details are scant, but it’s being reported that the same production company from the popular and critically acclaimed drama Queen of Housewives is gearing up season two! Casting has not been announced, but it is thought that the sequel will have its premier after Dong Yi concludes in August.

Also coming in August is the new Hong Sisters fantasy My Girlfriend is a Gumiho (just learned this: gumiho is the word for a nine-tailed fox). Lee Seung Gi stars as a man who falls in love with the title folktale creature, who may look human but lives by dining on human organs! If anyone can pull this off, it’s the Hong Sisters, who have written some of the most memorable comic dramas in recent years, including You’re Beautiful.

My Sassy Girl’s Jun Ji Hyun appears in a new photo spread for Bazaar magazine, giving off a bit of a retro rocker vibe and showing off her lanky frame.

So Ji Sub gave a substantial interview to promote the big war drama Road No. 1. In addition to answering questions about his character and wardrobe, So also speaks about why he feels it’s important to make this drama now and what surprised him in researching the historic project.

Hayami Mokomichi speaks out about his role as a “NEET hikikomori” in a new article. NEET stands for Not in Education, Employment or Training, and hikikomori is the nationwide issue in Japan of young people who retreat from the world and become virtual hermits in their rooms. The drama is called Keishichoushissouka – Takashiro Kengo, and Mokomichi’s performance was a major shift from his previous lighter roles in dramas such as Densha Otoko and Absolute Boyfriend. He says he took the part hoping that young people who are hikikomori might see it and decide to venture out into the world.

Finally, Oh Ji Ho was in Japan to promote Chuno over his birthday recently, where he took a just slightly awkward photo while being presented with a weird brownie-gingerbread man-birthday cake thing.

Uee

Uee, from Kpop girl group After School and the popular romance You’re Beautiful, is set to star in the upcoming sports drama Birdie Buddy. In a radical image change, she’ll play a simple mountain girl whose life is transformed when she picks up an 8 iron and discovers her love of golf.

Yoon Eun Hye headed down to the docks for this cinematic new photo shoot for the Spring collection from Joinus.

Kim Bum has said that he disconnected his internet connection after reading criticism of his acting in The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry, but he might want to reconnect–evidently the drama’s been getting some positive buzz for the cute relationship between Kim and Choi Chul Ho (Queen of Housewives). Kim plays Choi’s former student who becomes the older man’s teacher in the art of seduction.

A new pair of interviews with the men of Chuno has been released! First, Jang Hyuk talked about what drew him to his slave-catcher role, how he maintains his bodacious bod and how he helped shape the look of his character–you can read it all here.

Queen Seon Duk aired its final, 62nd episode on Tuesday, and it was an emotional goodbye for the cast and crew of the very popular epic drama. At the wrap party, star Kim Nam Gil gave every single crew member a big hug, and Lee Yo Won reflected on her role and the series here. QSD at one point reached a phenomenal mid-40s rating, and the finale still managed to grab 37%. In January, the Queen’s time slot will be filled by something completely different: the foodie romance Pasta.

We reported earlier on Kim Bum’s (Boys Over Flowers) holiday trip to Japan, and now the video of Kim’s message to his Japanese fans and many more pics from the Winter Dream Dinner have been released.

Congratulations to Kim Nam Joo (Queen of Housewives), who has been chosen as the Actor of the Year by the Korean government. Her role as a strong, confident woman helped catapult the drama to the top of the ratings three times this year.

Kim Hyun Joo (Partner, Boys Over Flowers) released a new book centered on her love for crafts and knitting titled Hyun Joo’s Hand-Crafted Story. Partial proceeds of the book sales will go to charity, and you can see her rocking the scarf she made herself here.

Cha Seung Won (City Hall) sported sort of a Freddie Mercury-ish look for High Cut magazine, including a stretchy leopard print shirt. Check out the man, the myth, the facial hair right here.

Ethan Ruan (My Queen) has a new movie coming out with Mark Zhao (Black & White), and while on a variety show to promote it, the host promised to show the trailer…but only if they kissed each other first. Most people would be calling Human Resources right then and there, but Ethan and Mark made out on demand! The mafia film Monga will be released next February.
