Go Joo Won

Go Joo Won

Coffee Prince’s Yoon Eun Hye will return to drama late this year opposite Park Yong Ha in Love Song, a remake of Hong Kong’s 1996 Comrades: Almost A Love Story. The new drama will be written by Winter Sonata scribe Oh Soo Yeon, and Yoon’s character is described as an innocent young woman who travels from China to Korea and is Park’s “unforgettable love.” The romance starts filming in August.

Kim Soo Ro star Ji Sung is in recovery after an on-set head injury halted filming. The sharp edge of another actor’s helmet struck Ji right below his left eye, and the director immediately sent him off to the hospital.

Speaking of Kim So Ro, Ji Sung’s co-star (hopefully not the one with the pointy helmet) Go Joo Won announced that when the drama finishes taping in September, he’ll enlist for his mandatory stint in the army.

Think you have the design skills to create the title logo for a Hong Sisters romance? My Girlfriend is a Gumiho is having a contest to see who can make the most appealing logo for the show–details are here (in Korean), and you have until July 9th. Good luck!

If you live in New York City, you might catch Boys Over FlowersGu Hye Sun on Broadway! He and co-stars Daniel Choi and Ok Joo Hyun will be traveling to the Big Apple to shoot scenes from their new drama The Musical on location in the Broadway district.

Park Shi Hoo fans will want to check out photos from his recent appearance in an unnamed Japanese magazine, along with a newly-translated interview from his trip to Osaka.

What happens when you take a suave sophisticate like Wu Chun and pair him with a whacked-out loose cannon like Rainie Yang? Evidently they get along great, according to this new article on their eagerly-awaited Taiwanese drama Sunshine Angel.

Horan of Clazziquai

At a press conference in Shanghai for the Chinese adaptation of the Korean popular drama All About Eve, Jang Hyuk had to excuse himself several times to run to the bathroom. He did manage to come back for enough time to praise co-star Cheryl Yang, who is also leaving her home country of Taiwan to film the remake. Zhu Dan, inheriting Park Chae Rim’s role in the original, gushed that she’ll have a hard time breathing during their kissing scenes. These guys need to chill out!

Dong Yi and Birth of the Rich are head-to-head in the ratings war, but it looks like Birth has gained the confidence of execs who have extended the series 4 episodes for a total of 20. That pushes the premier of Lee Soo Kyung’s romantic comedy My Country Calls back to May 10th.

And speaking of Country, it’s just been announced that Horan from the experimental genre-fusing group Clazziquai will make her acting debut in the drama, playing an intelligence agent who is also the “perfect woman,” impeccable in appearance and succeeding at everything she tries. Sounds like the perfect match for A Man Called God

There was a kinda-not-really Coffee Prince reunion at a recent Louis Vuitton gala at which both Yoon Eun Hae and Gong Yoo dropped in. YEH appears to have enjoyed an over-decorated cotton candy-flavored cocktail.

Fans of Chuno and/or Brown Eyed Soul will want to check out the group’s latest video, starring Lee Da Hae.

Cinderella’s Sister begins tonight in Korea, but if you just can’t wait, the drama has released a music video showing Sister footage over Yesung’s It Has To Be You. Even without any dramatic context, there’s a lot going on here: tears! slap fights! shirtless batting practice!

A late note on the recent Baeksung awards: apparently So Ji Sub arrived dressed in an army uniform–perhaps a promo for Road No. 1?

In other contest news, more details have been reported on the Mr. World Competition in Seoul, co-hosted by Chuno star Lee Da Hae. Managers say Lee was chosen because of her international sex appeal and language skills.

Yoon Eun Hye has been very busy lately using her fame to draw attention to charitable causes. She teamed up with Kim Hyun Joong to star in a commercial and promote UNICEF’s Never Alone campaign. Never Alone t-shirts are being sold throughout Korea, and all proceeds go to help the needy in Africa. YEH also participated in an event to help visually-impaired children–see the idol help out some happy kids here.

No Lee Seung Ki for Taiwan! The Shining Inheritance star has canceled his concert in April, his management company saying that they wanted to keep Lee “in Japan and Korea only”–even after previously agreeing to the event. This is the second time that Lee has broken his promise to appear in Taiwan. What gives?
