Stars Pay Respect to Park Yong Ha

As we mentioned yesterday, the untimely death of Park Yong Ha has all of Hallyuwood distraught. Many famous faces attended his funeral services today to pay their last respects to the popular singer, actor, and friend, to many.

The Return of Yoon Eun Hye

Coffee Prince’s Yoon Eun Hye will return to drama late this year opposite Park Yong Ha in Love Song, a remake of Hong Kong’s 1996 Comrades: Almost A Love Story. The new drama will be written by Winter Sonata scribe Oh Soo Yeon, and Yoon’s character is described as an innocent young woman who travels from China to Korea and is Park’s “unforgettable love.” The romance starts filming in August.

Kim Soo Ro star Ji Sung is in recovery after an on-set head injury halted filming. The sharp edge of another actor’s helmet struck Ji right below his left eye, and the director immediately sent him off to the hospital.

Speaking of Kim So Ro, Ji Sung’s co-star (hopefully not the one with the pointy helmet) Go Joo Won announced that when the drama finishes taping in September, he’ll enlist for his mandatory stint in the army.

If you live in New York City, you might catch Boys Over Flowers‘ Gu Hye Sun on Broadway! He and co-stars Daniel Choi and Ok Joo Hyun will be traveling to the Big Apple to shoot scenes from their new drama The Musical on location in the Broadway district.

Park Shi Hoo fans will want to check out photos from his recent appearance in an unnamed Japanese magazine, along with a newly-translated interview from his trip to Osaka.

What happens when you take a suave sophisticate like Wu Chun and pair him with a whacked-out loose cannon like Rainie Yang? Evidently they get along great, according to this new article on their eagerly-awaited Taiwanese drama Sunshine Angel.

Kang Ji Hwan: COFFEE HOUSE Will Be a Blend of Sitcom and Drama

In a new interview with Coffee House cast members Kang Ji Hwan, Ham Eun Jung, Park Si Young and Jeung Wung In, Kang indicates that the series will be a bit more episodic and sitcom-like than most dramas. He also says he that although the unusual charm of the new show may keep it from being a runaway hit, he’ll be happy if it breaks the Monday-Tuesday drama ratings records at least once.

JiYeon from T-ara went on the variety show Strong Heart and showed her finicky side by revealing that her first kiss went to Yoo Seung Ho on the set of the group’s Lies video, who she described as her ideal type. After getting to know him, however, she says he’s not her type at all anymore!

After Lee Jun Ki’s surprise entry into the military forced him to pull out of the film Grand Prix, Yang Dong Geun (I’m Sam) has stepped into the actor’s shoes. And here’s a shot of the cheerful Lee saluting his fans in the midst of military training.

Yang’s new Grand Prix co-star Kim Tae Hee has been tagged to star in a new romantic comedy from the same writer as On Air and City Hall, Kim Eun Sook. Although the premise of My Princess leaves a bit to be desired (read all about it here), Kim does have an impressive track record, so who knows?

Kim Hyun Joong is expected to bring in a young audience to the forthcoming IRIS spin-off Athena. Although nothing’s official yet, Kim’s management company confirmed that he is being considered for one of several roles.

Lee Jun Ki Forced to Drop Out of FAITH and GRAND PRIX

In a surprise development, Lee Jun Ki’s attempts to postpone mandatory military failed, forcing him to drop out of the medical drama Faith and the film Grand Prix, which he had already started filming with co-star Lee Tae Hee. Producers are now scrambling to replace Lee on Grand Prix, while filming scenes that do not include his character.

In speculative casting news: At this point it’s only a rumor, but Family’s Honor’s Yoon Jung Hee is said to have been cast to star in a new KBS drama called Marry Me. And in the role of the title nine-tailed fox of the Hong Sisters‘ My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, 2NE1’s Sandara’s name is being floated online. Believe at your own risk!

Kim Hyun Joong fans will want to catch up with him in a new video for Gummy’s single As A Man, where the S501 hunkatron makes love to the camera and Jung Ryeo Won.

Gong Yoo and Lee Min Jung play a couple out on a bicycle date for Mind Bridge casual business clothing. Asked about the shoot, shooting staff praised Gong and Lee as total pros. Check out the fresh and sweet photo shoot here!
